Who Are We?

The Alpha Zeta Chapter of Beta Theta Pi is a values-based organization dedicated to building men of principle for a principled life. Our chapter’s motto, “We Seek the Height,” is reflected in everything that we do as a brotherhood here at DU. Our extensive involvement on campus means you can find a Beta everywhere from the gym to the library, from the classrooms in the Business School to the halls in the Science Building. As brothers for life, we are there to push each other to the next level, to branch out of our comfot zones, to win, to 'Seek the Height'.

Why Beta?

Lifelong Brotherhood. Joining a fraternity is the defining experience of a college career for many collegiate men. Fostering close bonds that enrich each others lives and that last beyond college is at the core of what we do. Brothers are Brothers for life, and these men around you will be some of your closest friends throughout the rest of your life.

Beta Theta Pi was the first fraternity founded at DU. Celebrating 126 years of brotherhood, we were founded in 1889. The influence of Beta on DUs campus is enormous - over 1800 people have proudly worn the letters throughout the years, and our history is deeply intertwined with the University's. In fact, many streets near DU (Iliff, Warren, and Wesley, for example) are named after Betas and their families.

National Reputation. Beta is one of the oldest fraternities at over 176 years old, and is known as the leadership fraternity. Beta greats include one Vice President of the United States, 200+ members of U.S. Senate and House of Representatives - the most out of any fraternity -including 2 Speakers of the House, 8 U.S. Supreme Court Justices (more than any other fraternity), 1 Justice of the Supreme Court of Canada, 32 Ambassadors, 50 Governors to 23 states, 2 Canadian Premiers, 6 Congressional Medal of Honor Recipients, 4 Presidential Medal of Freedom Honorees, 34 Olympic Gold Medalists, Nobel Peace Prizes, astronauts, 84 Rhodes Scholars, and a massive network of Betas in sports and the artsentrepreneurs, inventors, and Fortune 500 CEOs.
